10/31/2008 - MCCAIN/PALIN: HUGE VICTORY IN WASHINGTON STATE!

103108mccainpalin.jpg
The McCain/Palin ticket won a victory in Washington State today! Their visit took many by surprise ...

John McCain and Sarah Palin (as played by Jim W. Coleman and Charlotte W.) swept into a local health insurance work location and walked away with first place in the annual Halloween Costume contest. The two also were spotted in the offices of the Kitsap Sun newspaper, and the CornerStone Coffee Shop. Said Palin: "There is no way we could have lost this one." McCain followed that by saying: "Of the three Sarah Palins in the building today, this is the most genuine, the real McCoy."

"You betcha!" came the response from running mate Sarah Palin.

After shaking more than 150 hands, and urging people: "I would appreciate your vote without preconditions," McCain went trick-or-treating through the building, assuring the work force that "I'm not 'that one' who plans on spreading the wealth around. I'm just redistributing some of the candy!"

Watch for the two at other possible campaign locations in and throughout Kitsap County.

10/28/2008 - DINO ROSSI, MCCAIN/PALIN, JAN ANGEL ... ON A STICK!

Meet the crew of sign wavers who stand out on the corner of Bethel and Tremont in Port Orchard until nightfall, seven days a week. They are (from left to right): Sue, John, Adam, and Jim. We have plenty of signs and we invite you to stand with us! Oftentimes, we duck on over to Puerto Vallarta for a beer when we're done, and we always have a great time. In fact, this has become the highlight of my day, and I hope to see you join us for an hour or two some night after work.

10/24/2008 - IS OBAMA ALWAYS PREMATURE?

Okay, so the left fizzles and frets about $150,000 worth of clothing for Sarah Palin (which is going to go to charity after the race) - and Obama plunks down $2M on a victory celebration?

Isn't he (or maybe that should be "He") the one who said: "And to my supporters who may be getting cocky I have two words for you - New Hampshire."

Is this Presidential judgement? Is the election over already? Are we still invading Pakistan like you said you would Obee-wan-obama? Will that come before or after you hang those drapes?

How much was Michelle's inaugural ball dress?

$2M for a victory party ... maybe that's what he means by "spreading the wealth around."

I have two words myself ...

SENATOR OBAMA - as opposed to President Obama.

10/21/2008 - POLITICAL SIGNS ON TREMONT

I invite you to come wave political signs with us on Tremont and Bethel in Port Orchard to support our Republican candidates. There's usually a group there from 3 to 6 p.m. on weekdays, and also on Saturdays in the morning and early afternoon. With the election only two weeks away, I'm trying to donate as much of my time as possible to stand out in the cold and get passersby excited. It's a lot of fun and great entertainment as well. You can't take shouted insults personally; instead, look at the funny side of it and it starts to look ... pretty pathetic. If one out of every ten who drove by shaking their head "no" would actually DO something ... like stand out on a corner, it might be a different race for the other side. Jan Angel was out there with us tonight, after spending nine hours "pushing a pencil on a budget." If nothing else, you get some good company and you get to witness a beautiful sunset. My rule: when the headlights come on, I'm outta there. :)

10/20/2008 - JENNA JAMESON PICS

Hey, being a red-blooded American male, I value Jenna Jameson's fine asset(s) as much as any other man and by golly ... BY GOLLY! But I had to crack up when I read this posting on her MySpace page:

I had to put the 'belly pics' folder on private because everyone is stealing my personal pictures. I want to enjoy my pregnancy without having to worry about who is doing what with my pics. Sorry. JJ

Sorry, I still think it's funny that someone in her line of work gets concerned about pictures of them in wide circulation. :)

Hmmm. Don't ask me why I was on her MySpace page. It was ... research. :)

10/18/2008 - WAVING SIGNS ON TREMONT

I carry a number of political signs in my truck and pull over whenever I see a group of politically-motivated people waving signs on the side of the road. Democrat or Republican, it doesn't matter - I can stand with them or on the opposite street corner.

Today, I spent hours waving signs in Port Orchard on the Safeway/Rite Aid intersection. And boy, let me tell you, that was quite the experience. Don't ever stand on a street corner with a political sign unless you have thick skin, and some real resolve.

Lots of passersby honked and gave me the "thumbs-up" sign but there were some who felt they couldn't drive by without shaking their head, flashing the "thumbs down" sign, flipping the bird, or yelling obscenties out the window. "Republicans are Nazi pigs!" was one such shouted comment, as was "Dino Rossi can suck my dick!" Let me tell you - I encountered hundreds of Port Orchard Democrats in the space of two to three hours and it was not pretty. Fortunately, the honks drowned out the shouters, and there were many more "thumbs up" than flying fingers. I was, actually, surprised at the overall positive reaction. So much for the so-called "polls" ...

It's a real shame that the Democrats can't do better than shouted insults on a chicken-shit driveby. It's easy to press the accelerator and yell at someone has stood out in the weather for several hours. We are Americans, sharing the same freedoms and the same two-party system.

We have a two-party system for a reason. But don't tell that to Port Orchard democrats. Makes me happy - and proud - that I'm not one of them.

Kinda reminds me of the email I got from John, at work. One one line he says:
I don't take anyone seriously who supports the McCain/Palin ticket.

Then, in the next paragraph:
We can agree to disagree without being disagreeable.

Maybe that's the difference between someone like me and a party who thinks they are more American or somewhat superior: I do take very seriously people who support the Obama/Biden ticket. And I'm learning to duck when they throw things and have their little temper tantrums behind the wheel.
