03/06/2008 - EXPORTING US OIL TO EUROPE? WAKE UP!
I couldn't believe what I heard on the news tonight: In just a few months, the cost at the pump of Biodiesel has gone from $3.20 to more than $5 a gallon! And people are paying it! The steep increase is due mainly to demand. Why is there demand? BECAUSE WE ARE SHIPPING MOST OF IT TO EUROPE! Holy cow! I hope you tree-hugging, Global-Goring whackjobs are happy. I think it's funny on one hand - you are denying yourself to shrink your self-righteous, ego-inflated carbon footprint in the name of Howard Dean and Albert Gore and you are driving your hybrids and demanding that diesel consumers switch to biodiesel ... and your precious supply is being exported out from under you, driving YOUR cost up (virtually all goods and commodities are affected) ... and you are subsidizing European drivers!!! It's almost funny ... except that you'd think that in the current economic and political climate, we wouldn't be exporting such a valuable commodity. Must have something to do with the exchange rate and the shrinking dollar.
