ARCHIVED CHEROKEE PRINT: Though not historic - at least, not yet - this is an example of a print that never "made it."
I'll often get a hankering to sit and sketch someone. On this December day in 1997, I whipped out a quick, accurate sketch of John Denver. However, by the time I produced it as a pen and ink drawing, it lacked something. There was just no "pizz-azz." (Is that a real word?)
So the print was never to be. I don't know what happened to it - I think I spray painted "Yard Sale" on the back of it once and used it as a sign. Just goes to show, you never know what you'll find tacked up on your local telephone pole.
As you can see, I tend to scribble all over my sketches. There are math equations on the left hand side, and a note on the right that reads: "Sweetheart, I was called away unexpectedly." As I'd already left Mary by then, I'm trying to figure out who I jotted that note to. There is only a handful of candidates.
