![]() ![]() In the mid 1980's, I spent a significant amount of time along the banks of the Verde River, northeast of Phoenix, Arizona. It was a great place to fish, to hike, to explore, to shoot, to take pictures, to swim, to skinnydip, to meet new people, to romp, to play ... to escape.
Last I checked, this tree is still standing. Take the Pinnacle Peak Rd. out and head far east. When the road dead ends, turn left onto what was - and probably still is - a dirt road. After a mile or two, the road spills out onto a scene much like what is depicted here.
I have taken some artistic liberties with the layout of the riverbank and the foliage, but the tree should be instantly recognizable.
This, the latest Cherokee Art print, is sure to be significant as it is the first print ever in which I've completely abandoned my customary style to experiment with new techniques. That, and I've never done a landscape print before.
The original 23x20 inch artwork is reproduced on executive-grade 80 lb. Solutions Cover Cerrea white stock - an exacting paper grade known for precise reproduction values, and stability when framed.
This Limited edition Cherokee Art print on heavy, frameable stock comes autographed by the artist, and is available
