Here is a collection of old, often embarrassing but still relevant, artwork, sketches and doodles I've done through the years. I worked as an artist professionally during much of the 1980's, but that work is not displayed here. What I've chosen to include here are prints that led up to the style and themes I use today. To see current Cherokee prints, please click here. Otherwise, please enjoy the archived stuff below:

CHEROKEE 1983 - "Egypt"
Early pen and ink t-shirt print with Egyptian theme.

CHEROKEE 1983 - "The Final Cut"
An early experiment with cross-hatching and theme. This print is of a mature theme.

CHEROKEE 1983 - "Hot Pursuit"
Early space-themed pen and ink I did only to impress a girl. Among the constellations embedded in the print, Leo is most prominent, followed by Orion.

CHEROKEE 1983 - "Hey You"
Early pen and ink drawn while listening to Pink Floyd's "Hey You" over and over again. This is, perhaps, one of the most important early prints I ever did with regard to shaping my later work.

CHEROKEE 1984 - "Nobody Home"
Pen and ink of Bob Geldof, from Pink Floyd's "The Wall."

CHEROKEE 1984 - "Mother"
Another Pink Floyd-related print, the most professional image I'd produced to date. One also with much historical relevance.

CHEROKEE 1984 - "Wedge"
Early pen and ink with erotic and rejection themes - a trend that continues to present in some of my prints. Caution: Adult theme

CHEROKEE 1985 - "USS Lexington"
Original pen and ink of a Federation starship USS Lexington. This was print no. 1 in what was to be a six print series.

CHEROKEE 1985 - "USS Enterprise"
Original pen and ink of a Federation starship USS Enterprise. This was print no. 2 in what was to be a six print series.

CHEROKEE 1985 - "USS Essex"
Original pen and ink of a Federation starship USS Essex engaged in combat. This was print no. 3 in what was to be a six print series.

CHEROKEE 1985 - "USS Cameron"
Original pen and ink of a Federation starship I designed in the late eighties. This was the starship in a novel I wrote entitled "The Trimesuron Ambush."

CHEROKEE 1985 - "USS Cameron"
Basic mechanical drawing of a Federation starship I designed in the late eighties. This sketch is here only for historical value - it holds no other merit.

CHEROKEE 1985 - "USS Cimarron"
Basic drawing of yet another Federation starship. My design is remarkable - the sketch is not.

CHEROKEE 1985 - "Klingon vessel"
Unremarkable line drawing of a new Klingon vessel prototype.

CHEROKEE 1986 - "Space Shuttle Challenger"
A pen-and-ink/watercolor drawing of the Challenger explosion.

CHEROKEE 1987 - "FJ-40 Landcruiser"
A simple drawing of my old Toyota Landcruiser.

CHEROKEE 1988 - "Then & Now"
Unique look at what I did in 1988, compared to what I did last night, March 23, 2002. Caution: Adult theme

CHEROKEE 1988 - "Leather on my Shoes"
An exercise begun one day when wanting to try something new.

CHEROKEE 1989 - "Cherokee Production Studios"
Okay boys and girls ... remember this one?

CHEROKEE 1989 - "Piano Tuning in space"
A spacewalking astronaut tunes a piano ... in space!

CHEROKEE 1989 - "Spacewalk"
Yet another space shuttle print done for my Dad.

CHEROKEE 1989 - "Broken Tether"
An interesting variation of the shuttle/astronaut print - this one done also for Dad.

CHEROKEE 1989 - "Shuttle on Pad"
Of all the space shuttle prints I did for my Dad in 1989, this simple print was my favorite.

CHEROKEE 1989 - "Hardbody"
11x14 inch stipled drawing of my brand new (at that time) Nissan Hardbody 4x4.

CHEROKEE 1991 - "Bucket"
An accurate, whimsical sketch of my daughter, Erica.

CHEROKEE 1991 - Space Shuttle on wood
Pen and ink of space shuttle on painted wood.

CHEROKEE 1997 - "John Denver"
Though not historic (at this point) - an example of a print that "never made it."

LEVEL HEADS II

There is a lot of buzz among my fans and associates about what is commonly being referred to as 'my Alzheimers story.' The name of the story is "Tonia's Coming" and it will appear in my upcoming book "Level Heads II" - sequel to "Level Heads."
